Wildly Nourished
A Retreat for Mothers and Little Ones (under 3)
Monday 8th - Friday 12th September in the Howgill Fells
A late summer retreat to rest, replenish, and reconnect with the wild. This is your chance to take a break without separating from your precious cub(s). Together, we’ll embark on a week of mindfulness, play, exploration, nourishing food, and supportive community.
Set on a private estate with stunning views of the Howgill Fells, this four-night retreat offers a serene space where both you and your child can thrive. With daily tasks like cooking and cleaning taken care of, and a team of registered nannies to support you, you’ll have the time and space to reconnect with nature, your spirit, and each other. Join us for yoga, wild waterfall adventures, and healing song as we come together in a nurturing community of mothers.
Annual Mama Mooney members can take £100 off when booking any room, and Early Bird is available until 1st May.
Location and Accommodation
Nestled in the heart of the Yorkshire Dales National Park, just 10 minutes from Kirkby Stephen train station, our safe private estate offers stunning views of the Howgill Fells. The sights and sounds of nature provide a calming backdrop for a true ‘retreat’ experience.
Choose between staying in the main Hall or the neighboring Farmhouse Cottage — both are peaceful, cosy spaces surrounded by nature. The majority of bedrooms are en suite, including all those in the Hall. The Hall has an additional shared bathroom with a bath. The House also has two superking double rooms with green views, which share a gorgeous bathroom with a bath. A variety of bed and room sizes are available, with prices reflecting the different options. Please let me know when booking if you'd like a cot set up in your room for your arrival (a limited number are available).
Yoga, Mindfulness and Sensory Play
Rituals and mindful moments are woven throughout each day, supporting both mothers and little ones. We begin and end together, connecting with nature’s rhythm - bare feet on the earth, deep breaths of fresh air, and the sounds of the wild. Close with calming scents, gratitude practices, and shared stories, all in harmony with the rhythm of the land.
A variety of yoga options are available for you, with dedicated care for your little one. Whether you prefer dynamic vinyasa, slow flow, or restorative yoga, you’ll have the freedom to choose a class time that suits both you and your child’s needs. And if things don’t go as planned, there’s always another opportunity for yoga just around the corner.
Throughout the retreat, we’ll immerse ourselves in nature - from the sensory experience of a wild waterfall adventure to the creative space of crafternoons, where we’ll use the earth’s natural ‘art materials.’ These moments offer the chance for both adults and children to slow down, tap into our creativity, and connect with others in a relaxed, supportive environment, leaving us all feeling Wildly Nourished.
Food
Holly’s culinary creations are intertwined with the seasons and the land that sustains her. With a passion for vibrant, plant-based dishes, she celebrates the flavors of the garden - many of which come from her own 300-year-old walled kitchen garden.
We’ll gather three times a day, whether on the sun-drenched terrace, in the airy dining space, or by the peaceful waterfall, for joyful, nourishing meals. Our food is more than just sustenance - it’s a celebration of the seasons and the earth. Every vibrant, rainbow-coloured plate will be an invitation to savor the healing power of nature’s bounty, especially as we embrace the fullness of late summer. Expect an abundance of vegetarian dishes throughout the week, along with indulgent sweet treats that celebrate the richness of the season.
For little ones, we’ll offer baby/toddler-friendly versions of the same meals the adults are enjoying, though please feel free to let me know of anything your child particularly does/doesn't like so we can ensure they'll have a happy belly.
Healing Song
Guest facilitator Olivia Fern will guide us through a Healing Song and Female Empowerment Ritual - a space to connect with the power of your own voice and the collective strength of women. Based in the heart of the Lake District National Park, Olivia’s music is deeply rooted in her connection to the living earth. With a unique ability to evoke a sense of the unseen yet tangible beauty in all things, her melodies and lyrics invite you to connect with your own inner depth. Her rare voice - described as one that can “summon tears of beauty” (Ayla Nereo) - evokes the unseen, yet deeply felt, beauty of all things.
Singing as a mother is one of the most soothing gifts you can offer your child. The gentle, nurturing vibrations of a mother’s voice calm and comfort, creating a bond of love and security. When mothers sing together, the energy shared is powerful and healing for all who sing and listen. This circle of song will nurture deep connection and community.
